We apologise for the length of this section but feel it is important that you know how we are operating in order to keep
the covid/omicron risk to a minimum for our customers.
Our current opening times are:
Thursdays & Fridays 2pm to 6pm to Saturdays & Sundays 11 am—4pm
We are no longer be open on Wednesdays until further notice
Booking & information before you come:
We want you to know how we have changed things to ensure your visit to us is a safe one. We have installed a counter screen, have screen curtains in the shop and studio, and also have visors available for workshops and use while painting. You will be required to wear a face mask when you are browsing or walking in the shop, but once seated in your designated area – you may be able to remove this – or a visor can be worn instead – please ask as we do have loads of these!
Initially, there will only be two groups of painters in the studio at the same time and the start times have been staggered to avoid unnecessary crowding.
It is important you arrive at your allocated time in order to select your pottery before the next group arrives (you can choose to order your items from our Pots 2Go system and we will have them ready for you, which would give you longer to paint). If you are unable to finish within the time, you can arrange to collect your pots after a drying time of 24hours, (our hair dryers will not be allowed to be in use –due to the science known about aerosol droplets) in order to finish it at home. We will put together a Takeout kits where you can just buy the underglaze pots you need at 25p per pot (on items that you have started to paint in our studio – (extra pots normally cost 50p in a Pots2go kit) and have it ready for you to take home on our next working day. This is an ideal solution when you need to take your time and is usually cheaper than paying a second booking fee. once finished you can just drop it back for firing. It will then be ready for you in 7 days.
When you’ve arrived:
You will be asked to use hand sanitizer when you come in to the studio. There are various ones around in the shop area too.
Following government guidance; tables, chairs and all equipment will be sanitized an hour after you have left (to allow for any aerosols droplets to settle) so that a deep cleaning can take place before it can be used again.
We hope to be able to serve our usual tea/coffee in takeaway cups. Fruit juice drinks and our usual range of sealed snacks will also be available. A bin will be provided for you at your table to put wrappers and empty cups into for proper disposal. Please avoid bringing in your own food or drink.
Once settled in the studio, you will be asked to remain in your seat at your table and to ask for anything further that you may require. You will be able to take off your mask while seated but will need to wear it for browsing the shop, toilet visits and whilst paying the bill.
Our toilet facilities will be available for your use. You will also be asked to use our hand sanitiser before and after.
Pots2Go takeaway kits will still be available if you prefer to paint at home either through ordering through our website or via the shop.
If you want to paint but are on your own this is still possible but please leave a note in our booking form.
If you’ve been shielding and feel vulnerable, we advise booking a Thursday slot, so you know the studio has been closed for 3 days prior to your booking.
If you are disabled we now have a painting area in the shop without any steps, but unfortunately our toilet is upstairs – But let us know how we can help you!
There is a carpark outside our shop (this doesn’t belong to us, but is owned by the Prince of Orange pub and we advise parking only in the overflow carpark adjacent to our building and NOT in the one behind their Pub!
Please remember that if you or a member of your family has Covid symptoms you should not visit the studio. If you have booked we can always arrange Pots2Go for you. Give us a call on 07950557225
Obviously we need to follow government guidance on how to deal with this situation and it is constantly changing but your safety and ours is the most important factor in all of this. We hope you understand why we have to put these measures into place and bear with them until such a time as we can return to a more normal way of working.
Most of all, enjoy your time with us.
