Adult Pottery Wheel Throwing Experience Part 1 - "Pulling a Pot" Sun 25th October 2020 2pm - 3:15pm
Why not come and have a go at throwing your own pot. This is a opportunity for complete beginners to come and experience the thrill of wheel throwing. Only 3 places are available. The session is one hour long. We recommend you do Part 1 first as we believe learning to centre your clay first can be a little daunting and so in this session we centre the clay for you so you can experience pulling a basic pot. (You can then always book onto our Part 2 session which focuses on learning how to centre the clay).
We will first fire your pot to Bisqueware for you.
Please remember that pots need to be dried before firing and this can take 2 or more weeks depending on the thickness.
When you pot is first fired it is then ready for decorating and glazing. The cost of this is not included but can be done with us using our underglazes in our Happy Potter Pot Painting Studio at a cost of £5 per pot.
We apply a clear dipping glaze that will ensure that your pot is waterproof. (Please note you are under no obligation to decorate your pot with us - you could paint it with acrylic at home and coat with a varnish - it is your choice).
Please note this is an adult only workshop. Only 3 places available.
NB. Space4craft and the workshop tutor will be taking precautions against COVID-19 and we would ask that you bring your own mask and hand sanitiser. (We do have individual hand sanitisers available to use if you do not have your own)
Face visors will be provided and currently must be worn.
Splash screens will be in place between participants sitting opposite each other.
Please do not attend the workshop if you have any COVID symptoms (new dry cough, high temperature, loss of smell).
Please read our accessibility notice before booking.
